Objectives
A primary goal of ATA is to foster and support the professional development of translators and interpreters. The Professional Development Committee was established to offer members quality continuing education programs and opportunities, in addition to ATA's Annual Conference program.
The Committee is asked to do the following:
- identify current and future professional development needs of working translators and interpreters;
- plan, implement, and market workshops and seminars to meet these needs;
- collect and assess feedback from attendees for the purpose of future professional development activities; and
- develop a budget for professional development programs that allows the events to be self-sustaining.
